Hello all,
This is John Bressette, interim Director of Rugby. While many of you know me simply as Coach, I have also been serving as an administrator with club leadership, working behind the scenes on several changes and events for the club. I'd like to take this time to summarize these updates in a newsletter.
Read on for a full recap of the goings-on in the club.
Summer Rugby
Our Summer '26 Flag Rugby season is off to a great start! We have 10+ kids in each of our three age groups! Several kids have moved up a level and are taking on a new challenge. Our Junior Coaches have gotten off to a great start as well, helping new kids feel welcome and working to #GrowTheGame, as we like to say.
New Board of Directors
The Club is looking to fill a new Board of Directors to set the direction of our future. We are looking for individuals with experience in finance, marketing, social media, and more. There are positions available beyond the Board, such as Committee Members and Volunteers, so you decide how much of a commitment you can make. If anyone is interested in applying, please complete this application.
We are also looking for a Director of Rugby. This position will oversee all rugby-related operations, from personnel recommendations to managing gear. Those interested in applying can do so using this form.
High School Rugby
Our high school teams have a new head coach!

We are proud and excited to welcome Andy Pluff '05 into the fold. Andy will serve as the high school boys head coach, and the interim high school girls head coach. A former Kenmore player and coach, and a current Kenmore parent, Andy's experience across all levels of the club ensure he is the right pick to help execute our vision.

Chiavetta's Dinner Fundraiser

If all that news made you hungry, fear not! The Kenmore Rugby Club has partnered with Chiavetta's to sell chicken dinners and raise money for our club on Tuesday, August 18th at Lincoln Park.
Dinners include Chiavetta's famous 1/2 chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, and a dinner roll. Tickets are $18 presale, and will also be available the day of for $20 each.
Dinners will be available for pickup between 5-7pm on the 18th.
There's sure to be a lot more news in the coming months as we onboard a new leadership team and fill out coaching staffs. And as always, there will be plenty of rugby too!
To all of our current players and parents, alumni, coaches, and friends of the club, I sincerely appreciate your continued support of the Kenmore Rugby Club.
Kenmore on three!
