The first RugbyNY Middle School 7's tournament of the season was a rousing success for everyone involved. For some, it was their first taste of contact rugby, and the kids from Kenmore excelled! The boys finished with a record of 2-0-1, falling to Fairport then beating Corning and Syracuse. The team was led by Josean Rodriguez, who scored a total of 5 tries. The girls tied Fairport before losing to Corning and City Honors, finishing 0-1-2 on the day. Rookie Marleigh Szymendera found the scoresheet 4 times!

"Going out there and being able to see their hard work pay off, that's what it's all about. The kids had a phenomenal first tournament, and we're excited to see them continue to grow." - Middle School Head Coach John Bressette

The Kenmore HS boys put together another complete game this weekend, defeating Orchard Park 92-10. James McNeil paced Kenmore with 5 tries, Javier Torres added three, Michael Greene and Tyler Gray scored twice, and Dylan Guarino and Nicholas Cash each added one. Avery Vogt was 11 for 14 on conversions.

The Kenmore HS girls lost to Orchard Park A 7-40 and tied Orchard Park B 15-15 in their doubleheader. Emma McNab scored once in each match. Emily Pytlewski and Maddie O'Malley added tries in the second match. It was a hard-fought day for the girls, who continue to show improvement.

"Playing against the three largest teams in the league in our first three matches is never easy, but these girls took it in stride and continue to improve each game. The strong competition has only brought them closer together. I'm excited to see what the rest of the season has in store!" - High School Girls Head Coach Rachel Noone
