Kenmore Rugby celebrates our 20th year of Youth & High School rugby as our 2023 season starts Sunday, February 5th.
Flag Rugby First to take the pitch this year will be our youngest ruggers. Join us on Sundays from noon to 2pm at M/ile Sports, 1520 Military Rd. in Tonawanda each Sunday in February and March for our 2023 Winter indoor flag rugby session. The session is open to all boys and girls in grades K-8. Flag players should use either the Rookie Rugby or Youth Spring registration types. You can read more about registration below.
High School Rugby Next up will be our High School Boys and High School Girls teams. Practices will begin in March and will be spread between the Buffalo Bills fieldhouse, Nardin Sports Complex and Kenmore West. Practices will move outside in April. High school rugby is open to all boys and girls in grades 8-12. 8th graders will need to meet club fitness requirements before they will be allowed to play at the high school level. Players should use the High School Rugby registration type.
Middle School Rugby Last, but not least, Middle School Rugby will begin practices in April. New for 2023, we are proud to announce the addition of a Middle School Girls team. This will be a tackle rugby team playing sevens, similar to our boys team from the past two seasons. Middle school teams are open to boys and girls in grades 6-8, players should use the Middle School registration types.
Registration Kenmore Rugby moved to a new registration system in September of last year. The system uses a players age to determine what registration types are available. Registration age is determined as the age of the player at the end of the current USA Rugby season (August 31, 2023).
Players returning from fall rugby will only pay the difference between their fall registration and a full season registration. No player will pay more than the total of a full registration.
