John began playing rugby shortly after he started walking. The son of long-time area coach Fred Bressette, John began playing rugbyfor Orchard Park Youth Rugby in 2008 and was one of the very Kenmore Youth Rugby players as they began in 2011.

John began his coaching career with Kenmore Youth Rugby while still a high school player with the Kenmore Rugby Boys team.

John has become the club's Youth Rugby Coaching Coordinator, primarily focusing on developing the club's practice plans and teaching introduction to contact skills.

In the Spring of 2022, John was named Head Coach of the Kenmore Boys Middle School team.

John resides in the Town of Tonawanda and is a chemistry teacher at Mount St. Mary Academy.
